London, Berkshire and Destination Wedding Photographer
Producing award winning reportage wedding photography throughout London, the United Kingdom and destination weddings worldwide
Welcome to Mark Seymour Photography – The number one choice if you’re looking for one of the best London wedding photographers, Berkshire wedding photographers or destination wedding Photographers.
Mark Seymour is widely recognised as one of the best exponents of documentary and reportage wedding photography in the UK. Having won UK wedding photographer of the year on three separate occasions he has been awarded an associateship (akin to two Michelin stars in the restaurant world) by the Master Photographer Association for Documentary Wedding Photography. One of only six photographers to be recognised by Nikon UK as one of their ambassadors, Mark also works in a similar capacity with Manfrotto, SmugMug and Loxley Colour.I am based in Berkshire and work from home with a beautiful reception area to meet couples. I am often denoted as a Berkshire Wedding Photographer, London Wedding Photographer and Destination Wedding Photographer.
Do we get a mixture of black and white, and colour images?
Yes is the short answer. Firstly I personally edit the images leaving you with all the beautiful story telling images from your wedding day and then I make a professional judgment whether they will look their best in either colour or black and white. Every image is taken in the highest resolution in colour so we can always go back and make a favourite image of yours to your preferred choice.
How would you describe your style of photography?
I’m known as a documentary wedding photographer and reportage wedding photographer although there are many other terms used to describe the style of photography that I take to capture your day. These include; reportage wedding photography, candid wedding photography, and informal wedding photography, to name just a few. As a documentary wedding photographer I would be capturing your day in an informal and unobtrusive manner catching beautiful moments that occur naturally on your wedding day.
What differentiates you from all the other photographers?
Firstly passion, attention to detail and being with you every step of the way from the first point of contact until the album is safely delivered to you. Secondly, I never treat you as clients but always as a couple, ensuring I deliver to you the very best experience both before, during and after the big day. And thirdly, all the images you receive will be edited and colour corrected to the same standard as in my sample albums and web site.
Can we still have some family groups and some beautiful portraits?
Yes of course. I’m a firm believer that a few groups of some of the key people at your wedding should be captured. Most couples keep it to between five and eight simple groups so they may enjoy the wedding that they have planned with their guests and not be fixed in front of a camera.
What about all my details?
I always ensure the little details that you’ve spent so long planning are recorded. I try and capture them in the context of the day so they can also become a treasured memory.
What’s your dress code for our wedding?
I like to be relaxed but smart on your wedding day, always wearing a smart shirt and formal trousers and shoes, as I’m aware that I could appear in your video but more importantly I’m at your wedding.
Can we buy an album from you?
Yes of course. Most couples initially book a digital only package, and then once they have seen all their beautiful images after their wedding they decide on the album style and number of pictures they want to include.I have a unique relationship with one of the UK’s best album manufacturers so can supply to you a virtually limitless amount of options to ensure your album is totally bespoke. A sample selection of my albums can be seen here.
What if you haven’t photographed at our venue before?
As a reportage wedding photographer my first objective is to record your wedding naturally as it happens, however as a professional wedding photographer I get asked to go all over the UK and Europe so should your venue be new to me I will ensure I arrive early so as to feel comfortable with the surroundings and locate the best backdrops and interesting spaces to take your first formal pictures together and family groups.
What gear do you use?
I use exclusively Nikon camera equipment and more often than not it’s their latest and best professional gear. I count myself as one of a lucky and privileged few being sponsored by Nikon UK as one of their select ambassadors.
Are you insured?
I have three types of insurance; my equipment is insured, I have public liability which is essential for most venues now, and professional indemnity insurance which insures against loss or photographic failure. I do however take every precaution to ensure images are backed up both where I work and on a secure cloud with SmugMug.
Do you travel abroad?
Yes, as I’m also known as a destination wedding photographer and have travelled to France, Italy and Israel to photograph weddings abroad. If you are thinking of having a destination wedding please contact me so I can put together a bespoke wedding photography package for you.
Are you a member of any professional bodies?
I’ve been a member of the SWPP and the MPA (Master Photographer Association) for over 15 years. Whilst many photographers are not, I’m a great believer in them. I’m very proud of the awards I have been given; including winning UK wedding photographer of the year on three separate occasions, and I was the first to receive an Associateship ( akin to two Michelin stars in the restaurant world ) with The MPA as a documentary wedding photographer in the UK.
Can we meet you before the wedding?
We always do our best to sit down with you prior to your wedding. My reception is based in Burnham Bucks, however we can also talk prior via skype or email, to clarify the schedule of your day and what your expectations are.
