Reportage Wedding Photography at Northcote House
Katy and Mikey’s Northcote House wedding was full of wonderful personal and unique touches; Katy’s mum Krystyna applied her stunning make-up ,and once ready the local village were able to watch as the beautiful bride walked the few hundred yards from the cottage to the church with her father and bridesmaid protecting her stunning dress from the wind! Even the classically decorated cake had a surprise; a tiny cat modeled on the couples cherished pet, was hidden behind the sugar crafted flowers.
I arrived at the couple’s cottage for an early start at 11.00am in Chavey as I photographed the bride getting ready helped by her mum Krystyna and bridesmaid Laura, whilst her hair was styled by Kate from Occasion Hair adorned with a stunning tiara by Jenny Packham
Emotional tears flowed as Katy looking gorgeous in her Pronovious ivory silk wedding dress walked down the stairs and saw her father for the first time.
The flowers were put together by Pam and Alison who also arrange the flowers at St Martins Church.
Northcote House, The perfect wedding venue in Berkshire
The ceremony was held by the reverend Catherine Blundell with readings by John Fry and Kate Edwards. After signing the register the couple took their first steps as husband and wife down the aisle and drove themselves to Northcote house. in the family friend’s vintage VW beetle.
During the drinks reception my task was to capture in my documentary style the essence of the event in a candid and informal way. That completed, there was welcome break with the weather and the small number of informal groups were photographed along with the beautiful bridal portraits.
Dinner was announced at 4.15 and with a break from tradition the speeches were delivered prior to the meal being served.
The evening finished to the sounds of The Embassy Band with Katy and Mikey taking to the floor with their first dance to the emotional words of Eva Cassidy’s Songbird
A honeymoon to Singapore and then Bali awaits.
