Civil Partnership Wedding with Jen and Alex

Civil Partnership Wedding with Jen and Alex

Luton Hoo, Bedfordshire

I met Jen and Alex at a Luxury Wedding Show at Luton Hoo, earlier in the year. They are such a lovely couple, I was so pleased they asked me to photograph their wedding. The couple got married at Luton Hoo, which is an eighteenth century mansion house, set in beautiful grounds in Bedfordshire. Luton Hoo was the romantic getaway for Queen Elizabeth and the Duke of Edinburgh in their first years of marriage, so has a very prestigious pedigree.

Jen and Alex met at their local running club, Alex has played hockey at national team level, so both ladies are extremely fit.

Wedding day

The couple had organised a classic white Rolls Royce for the journey to Luton Hoo and after the wedding ceremony we took a gorgeous photo of the two of them alongside the car taken from above.

Jen and Alex chose long, elegant white gowns falling into soft tails and trains. Alex’s dress was a fitted strapless dress, and Jen’s dress had a lace detail top with tiny pearl button detail running down the back. Alex kept her hair and make-up simple and fresh and Jen added a crystal floral clip to her bob styled hair.

We took a few lovely group shots of Alex and Jen with their individual families. Before the couple arrived there was some time for informal shots of the guests as the mum’s greeted their family and friends.

The ladies had three bridesmaids who wore black knee length dresses.

Both Jen and Alex were escorted by their fathers as they walked up the aisle to each other. They both carried round bouquets of roses and gypsophila.

One of the most special things about this couple and their wedding was their absolute love for one another, they just looked so happy, and I loved how they held hands with each other throughout the ceremony. One of my favourite pictures is of the two of them as they took their vows, with their special way of hold eah others hands, it’s the perfect moment..

Bridal portraits and details

We took Jen and Alex for a walk in the grounds, with the beautiful autumnal colours of the trees and leaves forming a golden carpet for some stunning bridal portraits of the two of them.

The table setting were elegant with cream and gold, white roses, hydrangeas and gypsophila floral arrangements and each chair was tied with a cream sash.

Jen and Alex joined their guests for a delicious three course meal of salmon, lamb and cheesecake. The couple cut their simple white, three tiered wedding cake decorated with fondant ivy and white rose buds. Both dads, Alex and Jen gave speeches and the guests took part in a sweepstake for how long they would last!

The couple took to the dance floor to John Legend’s ‘All of Me’ before everyone joined them to party the night away to the disco.
