Classic country wedding

A classic English wedding in Marlow, Harry and Zoe

Zoe and Harry wanted a classic English wedding taken advantage of the natural beauty of the local countryside in Marlow, Buckinghamshire.

I first met Zoe when she was working at the wedding venue Danesfield House (and previously Hedsor House) where I am their recommended documentary wedding photographer; and she approached me to photograph her wedding.

The day started at home where I photographed Zoe getting ready, she wore an elegant long white gown and her makeup was down by Cosima. Their daughter Sky made the perfect little flower girl alongside another little flower girl and 3 bridesmaids and a page boy.

Zoe was driven to her wedding ceremony in a vintage car supplied by Cars Always.

The bridal flowers were white pink and peach roses, with gypsophila and white freesias, supplied by Sue Barton.

Zoe and Harry were married in church at, St John the Baptist Church in Little Marlow. The congregation joined in three hymns; Bread of Heaven, I vow to thee my country and King of Love.

The wedding day was presided over by toast master Miles Noble, who is also Zoe’s cousin. Zoe and Harry were joined by 120 wedding guests to celebrate their special day.

The guests mingled, drank bubbly, ate canapes and played garden games before the wedding breakfast was served, perfect for me to capture lots of lovely natural shots of the couple talking with their guests with documentary photography.

The marquee was dressed beautifully with a boho chic country theme, the table setting dressed with fresh rosemary. The meal was completed with a three tier cheese cake.

There were lots of lovely details to photograph, like the black board with the running of the day and paper kites. The setting, a classic English countryside, was a stunning backdrop for photographing bridal portraits.

The guests continued celebrating the marriage of Harry and Zoe, dancing to the band Re-Cover and getting their photographs taken in a photo booth during the evening reception. documentary wedding photography ensures all the magic moments and emotions are captured to create life long memories, one of my favourite photographs of the day was a wonderfully poignant moment whilst Zoe was dancing with Harry and she reached out to connect with her Grandad.

The whole day was filmed by videographer Heathfield Productions.
