Ask any Berkshire wedding photographer and they’ll tell you that they love shooting wedding photography at Coworth Park.  This stunning five-star luxury hotel and spa offers a rural retreat just outside London.

Nestled in 240 acres of stunning parkland, Coworth Park was built in 1776 and has enjoyed a few owners since.  The latest being The Dorchester Collection of hotels who acquired the hotel in 2010 and have transformed into the luxurious oasis it is today.

Weddings at Coworth Park are always special as the beautiful building, stunning interiors and beautiful grounds and gardens create the perfect setting for a quintessentially English country house wedding.

The Mansion has four suites for you to choose from depending on the size of your wedding party and the style of your wedding.  I will talk about them now.

The largest of the spaces is the impressive Oval Room that can accommodate up to 100 guests.  Situated on the lower ground floor of the mansion house, this light and area room has its own private patio with a staircase that leads to the terraced gardens.  It has a distinctive faceted wall design that was inspired by the serrated edge of leaves that makes a gorgeous backdrop in wedding photos.  A blank slate for you to dress as you wish it even has 23 hanging points from the ceiling to make decorating the space even easier.  The Oval Room has a large reception area that is the perfect space for drinks or staging.

When I shoot wedding photography at Coworth Park, I love it when the Oval Room is lit by candles.  It creates a wonderfully intimate and romantic ambience perfect for a wedding.

For a more alfresco feel the glamorous Garden Room is perfect.  The Garden Room is located in the Mansion House and has capacity for 100 guests.  Flooded with natural light, (music to the ears of all Berkshire wedding photographers) The Garden Room is laid back yet elegant and it seamlessly blends indoor and outdoor spaces to create a relaxed garden party vibe.  It has a patio area that offers al fresco dining and a step up into the beautiful gardens, where in down times your guests can enjoy a game of croquet.

The patio boasts an al fresco dancefloor, you can add your own fairy lights that will compliment the natural adornment providing by a starlit sky after the sun goes down.

The Oak Room is perfect for small and intimate weddings as it has capacity for up to 30 guests, or can be used as a space for a drink’s reception at a larger celebration.  Situated opposite the restaurant, it has its own private entrance from the hotel lobby so you get a feeling of seclusion.  The Oak Room also has a useful ante-room.  The Oak Room is an elegant space with Georgian style skirting and cornicing and plasterwork depicting acorn and oak leaf designs.  It also has dual aspect windows that create a light and airy feel.  A real feature in the room is a hanging sculpture of copper oak leaves.  The Oak Room is so beautiful that additional decoration isn’t necessary.

The Barn is situated in the upper level and is housed in the original barn frame.  Characterised by its rustic features such as a working stone fireplace which provides a roaring fire in winter.  In summer the wall of windows transforms the space with a flood of natural light.  So, it really is a wedding space that works for all seasons.

The Barn has capacity for up to 30 guests and with its own bar and alfresco dining on the outdoor terrace you’ve got exclusive use of a venue within a venue.

One of the biggest draws for choosing a wedding at Coworth Park are the amazing gardens and grounds.  Are you dreaming of saying ‘I do’ amongst a meadow of wild flowers with a gentle breeze on your face?  Or on a beautiful manicured tree lined lawn, or in a sunken garden with your loved ones seated all around you.  Coworth Park can make these things happen.  And it’s not just wedding ceremonies that can be done outside.  Drinks receptions outside, alfresco dining with tables and chairs elegantly laid on the lawn.  A stretched tent marquee can be erected in the Lime Grove along with Coworth Park’s very own Horsebox Bar, making guests their favourite cocktails to order.

The team at Coworth are rightly proud of their beautiful gardens and happy to have them play a part in your wedding day.

When I shoot wedding photography at Coworth Park, I love taking my couples around the gardens to capture some romantic portrait images of them.  My couples often comment that those few minutes where they just relax and take a stroll together are their favourite part of the day and they always produce amazing images that my couples are always thrilled with.  My favourite spots for wedding photos at Coworth Park are the sunken gardens, the rose garden, the 10-acre wild flower meadow and the lime grove.

When it comes to food Coworth Park have their own Michelin-Starred executive chef Adam Smith who has seen their restaurant proudly awarded the Michelin star of excellence and 4 AA Rosettes.  Their team work with couples to create the perfect wedding menu covering everything from drinks on arrival to tasty evening food.  You can be as relaxed or formal as you like but know that your guests will be wowed with the food at your wedding at Coworth Park.

Coworth Park have a large selection of rooms and suites from singles through to family rooms.  Each elegant designed, the wedding team can offer group rates for wedding parties.  As the suites at Coworth Park are elegant, light and spacious, they make the perfect place for bridal preparations.  With enough room for the bridal party, hair/make up artists and one unobtrusive wedding photographer there to capture those all-important preparation images.

The events team at Coworth Park are highly experienced in arranging weddings and will guide you through every decision giving useful advice from their years of experience of hosting weddings and their in-depth knowledge of the venue.

So, if you’re thinking of getting married at Coworth Park, I hope this has been helpful to you.  But don’t just take my word for it.  The most fun part of planning a wedding is getting to visit stunning wedding venues in beautiful locations so go and have fun with it.  And when you’ve found that perfect Berkshire wedding venue, you’ll be looking for an experienced Berkshire wedding photographer.  Feel free to give me a shout.
