Just a short drive away from where I am based and I am in the heart of the Hampshire countryside with its stunning New Forest and villages to explore, and some of the country’s most beautiful wedding locations, it’s not surprising that many brides choose a venue here to be married.
I have been working as a professional wedding photographer in Hampshire for many years. The beautiful Georgian manor house has a real feel of old fashioned English country living. The Four Seasons has an area attached to the ballroom, perfect for drinks and canapes, and time to meet with and be congratulated by your guests after the ceremony, surrounded by floor-to-ceiling windows, it opens onto a spacious terrace with colourful potted flowers on a warm sunny day to enjoy. This space and lighting is wonderful for natural wedding documentary photography, to capture you and your guests.
The Lime Wood Hotel is a wonderful wedding venue that I have been lucky enough to be booked to photograph, and for me a perfect place to visit and stay. Classic, elegant and indulgent are the words I would use to describe this venue, and with the incredible food of Angela Hartnet and team, what’s not to love. Located in the heart of the New Forest, set in the lush Hampshire countryside, this exclusive Lyndhurst hotel is set in picturesque grounds with a forest walk and lake, gardens and courtyard for stunning wedding photographs.
Another lovely venue nestled in the New Forest is Rhinefield House, the perfect romantic setting in the village of Brokenhurst. It is part of the exclusive Hand Picked Hotels and offers luxurious accommodation including spa and a two red rosette restaurant, and the Gardens are stunning for your bridal portraits.
I am asked to photograph many barn weddings and Rivervale Barn set in the beautiful countryside of Hampshire is one of the loveliest. Rivervale is a contemporary barn in the grounds of the historic Yately Water Mill, built in 2009 and is a great space with lots of light and neutral tones, and will be dressed perfectly to fit your wedding theme. For your wedding photographs you and your guests can enjoy the picturesque gardens and Mediterranean style courtyard. In addition the bridal couple get to stay at the Cornstore Cottage, wonderfully romantic in its design, and gorgeous for your getting ready shots.
Tylney Hall is one of those venues that I always look forward to photographing at for many reasons, but namely the amazing grounds for photography and the great events team and their attention to detail on the couples big day, so you can relax and know everything has been attended to.
Tylney Hall, a romantic country house, set in Hampshire’s beautiful landscape, has four venues that are licenced for weddings, from a grand large wedding, to a small intimate gathering in a beautiful decorated individual period room. I love the baronial hall of Tylney Suite, which is perfect for a traditional wedding, the high vaulted ceiling and minstrels’ gallery is perfect for your wedding photography as is the walled garden for beautiful outside photography.
A venue you may be familiar with is Highclere Castle, but in its role as the Crawley family estate in television’s Downtown Abbey. Not only does the Castle have wonderful rooms for you and your guests to be photographed in, but there is a first floor gallery and sweeping staircase for your stunning bridal portraits. The Folly and garden lawns provide stunning backdrops with the house in the background for your beautiful wedding photography.
