Northcote House – A fabulous Berkshire wedding venue
Sunningdale Park, formally Northcote House in Ascot is one of the most beautiful Berkshire wedding venues. The impressive Grade II listed, Neo-Georgian mansion, coupled with the breathtaking splendour of the extensive grounds make for gorgeous wedding photography.
The magnificent mansion was purpose built in 1920 for extravagant celebrations and special occasions, which for me, adds to the special feeling I get when photographing a wedding here. Its exterior is architecturally beautiful, with splendid oak doors leading to an equally impressive interior. Once inside there are some wonderful photographic opportunities. The grand hallway and arches are stunning, with an elegant feature staircase, striking reception room and a light, bright breakfast room. These spaces are perfect for a mixture of formal shots and the documentary wedding photography that I love to shoot.
Step outside of the house and this remarkable Berkshire wedding venue becomes difficult to beat. The variety of features and beautiful spaces nestled among the woodlands and manicured lawns are a photographers dream. The lovingly tended landscaped gardens combined with lush forest areas make for interesting, vibrant and rich photography. These varied spaces allow me to capture group shots, but just as importantly (much more so for most of my clients) the more intimate natural images of your guests as they relax and enjoy your big day.
Most couples have quite definite ideas about what they want from their wedding. Being able to turn these ideas into reality, while keeping every wedding unique is a real art. Berkshire wedding photographer Mark Seymour comments I have photographed many weddings within the house and grounds from intimate traditional affairs to eccentric grand celebrations; I have always been impressed by the wedding teams’ ability to manage and deliver perfection every time.
The venue is fully licensed which can be a real advantage in terms of your photography, as we have more time together. Of course if you prefer a more traditional marriage there is a lovely church just minutes away within the old village of Sunningdale.
