Orchardleigh House Wedding Venue

Orchardleigh House Wedding Venue

Orchardleigh House wedding venue and Estate  is a stunning location in Somerset, not far from the historic city of Bath. Set in beautiful formal gardens and with an immaculate golf course,Orchardleigh is an English fairytale setting for your special day.

Evelyn and Michael met seven years ago, introduced through friends. Just under two years ago Michael approached Evelyn’s Dad to ask for her hand in marriage and then proposed two days later on a family cruise. At the port of Madeira they went to the local Tropical Garden, and he simply got onto one knee and asked ‘will you marry me’. Twenty months later the couple are celebrating their wedding day with their friends and family at Orchardleigh House wedding venue.

Michael originally comes from Devon, and the couple were keen to find a romantic setting for their wedding venue outside of London, Orchardleigh House provides indefinable English charm of a country Estate. Karl did a wonderful job coordinating the wedding at the venue.

Evelyn got ready in one of the luxurious hotel rooms. She had a traditional white wedding gown for the ceremony then changed into a stunning red dress with embodied bodice for the wedding breakfast. Dren did her hair and makeup, ensuring she looked wonderful throughout the day. Evelyn’s jewellery for the day came from Les Nereides

The guests arrived and took their seats for the ceremony to the music of harpist Ruth Kenyon and cellist Kate Robey. Evelyn’s Dad walked her down the aisle to the classic Louis Armstrong’s ‘What a Wonderful World’.

The couple got married in the main house and then enjoyed champagne and canapes in the garden. Of course the stunning gardens and backdrop of the House itself made some beautiful wedding photographs.

The couple planned some details of the wedding to reflect Evelyn’s Chinese heritage; had an amazing two tier wedding cake complete with a chines dragon wrapped around the top tier with his tail, and on the tables the wedding favours were fortune cookies and miniature bamboo steam baskets.

Although the couple didn’t have an official first dance the DJ started the evening with their favourite sing; Toto’s Africa.

Travel is definitely something of importance for this couple, with their engagement location and favourite song, and they are off to Peru for their honeymoon in July.

As the light turned from the golden hour into dusk we took some bridal portraits with dramatic skies which looked incredible with Evelyn in her red dress, and the views of Orchardleigh House in the background.
