Tami and Daniel: The Grove Wedding Photography

Tami and Daniel met three years ago on the Jewish dating website. And after the wedding the couple are off for a romantic honeymoon in Hawaii. I had met Tami eight years ago when I photographed her sister’s wedding, and its always such a pleasure and a honour when a family asks you to photograph another wedding.

Tami had her make-up by Louise Shipman a brilliant make-up artist who I often meet at weddings, and her hair was by Zoe. Tami wore a Ritva Westenius designer dress, with deep cut back, lace and sequined detail and tiny crystal buttons. She wore a pair of peep toe silver Jimmy Choo shoes. Tami’s bridesmaids looked beautiful in turquoise dresses.

Daniel looked very smart with his bow tie and pink rose button-hole to match Tami’s bouquet of blush pink roses and white gypsophila, and the groomsmen wore turquoise ties to match the bridesmaid’s dresses. All the male guests were given pink skull caps to wear for the ceremony.

The Grove is a stunning wedding venue with its premier hotel and beautiful sunken garden, perfect for an outside Chuppah. The Chuppah looked stunning with large sweeping boughs of flowers including dark pink and white peonies.

The grounds are full of unusual and unexpected artwork and topiary. We got a great shot of the bride and groom sitting on one of the giant deckchairs.

All the waiters were dressed in grey jackets. The toast master for the day was David Collins. The tables were dressed with white and silver, crystal glasses and tea lights and floral arrangements to match the bridal bouquet. Before the guests entered I took a photograph of the traditional Jewish bread. The guests enjoyed a wonderful meal by Tony Page Caterers, starting with a trio of sushi, tamarind glazed rib eye steak and a trio of delicious desserts. The three best men gave brilliant speeches during the evening.

The dance floor was white studded with lots of twinkling lights and the room had beautiful ambient lighting to create an opulent celebratory atmosphere. The music was provided by the incredible Gilev Band. Tami and Daniel had their first dance to Jack Johnson’s Better Together. I got some photos of the girls singing on top of the piano. Gilev make sure everyone has a great time and they got everybody singing.

The evening included a special performance by the BBC Strictly dancers Aljaz Skorjanec and Janette Manrara.  They performed three special dances that had the guests enthralled. I got some wonderful pictures as Aljaz lifted and spun Janette in the air – they were incredible. I can report that Janette has liked the image I posted for them on Twitter after the wedding.

One of my favourite pictures from the evening is of Tami dancing in the parachute surrounded by the girls with the groom behind her being thrown into the air.
